| Mega International Commercial Bank and Bank of China<601988><3988> have signed an agreement recently to jointly lend US$31 million to real estate developers Wu Towers LLC and Victoria Towers Development Corp in New York, sources reported.
An executive from Mega Financial Holding Co, the parent of Mega International, said the bank is seeking more cooperation opportunities with mainland state-owned lenders to offer global syndicated loans.
Reportedly, Mega Financial has also plans to work with BOC on RMB-based lending as well as setting up a lending platform serving Taiwanese enterprises in China.
The two companies are expected to sign an official cooperation agreement after the first negotiation on economic cooperation framework agreement to be held by the authorities in Taiwan and China later this month. |
