The U.S. and China will launch an initiative this week to develop biofuels for China's fast-growing airplane fleet, Reuters reported, citing U.S. government and industry officials as saying.
The joint initiative will help global aircraft industry meet its "objective of being carbon neutral in 2050," David Wang, president of Boeing China.
The two sides will announce the initiative during this week's U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue meeting, a U.S. official said.
The second round of China-U.S. strategic and economic dialogue opened today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The dialogue will cover a range of topics, including bilateral links, regional and global issues.
